The words on submit pages
What directories, list sites and review sites mean by the terms on their submit and pricing pages, one sentence each, and what each one means for an adult AI app.
- NSFW AI directory
- A website whose purpose is to list adult AI apps: companions, NSFW chat, image and video generators, usually with categories, ratings and a submit form.
- The first places to apply to: adult AI is the point of the site, so the only question is the price.
- Adult list site (porn list site)
- A site that ranks porn and adult sites by category and now keeps an AI section for AI sex chat and AI porn generators.
- The most buyers per visit of any kind; most list for free after a review, some want a link back.
- Review and ranking site
- An editorial site that tests NSFW AI apps and ranks them, earning from affiliate links rather than listing fees.
- There is rarely a form: you pitch the editor, and an affiliate programme gets you a faster look.
- Launch site
- A site where new products are announced for a day of attention, such as Product Hunt or BetaList.
- Most ban explicit content; launch the company and the product with a clean listing, not the pictures.
- Verdict
- This site's reading of a place's rules: accepts NSFW AI apps, takes them with a clean listing only, or says no.
- A verdict comes from the place's own submit page, rules or listings, and the page shows the day it was read.
- Clean listing
- A directory entry for an adult app with no nudity in the images and no explicit words in the title, tagline or description.
- The way into big general directories; an 18+ label is usually fine, sexual imagery is not.
- Dofollow link
- A normal link with no rel=nofollow or rel=sponsored attribute, which search engines may count as a vote for the linked site.
- Worth more for search; on this site the link type is read from a live listing, not from the sales page.
- Nofollow link
- A link marked rel=nofollow, which tells search engines not to pass authority through it.
- Still sends visitors; do not pay a search-engine premium for it.
- Sponsored link
- A link marked rel=sponsored because it was paid for; search engines treat it like nofollow.
- Normal for paid placements; the value is the traffic and the visibility on the page.
- Reciprocal link
- A free listing given on condition that your site links back to the directory.
- Cheap and common among adult list sites; put the link somewhere honest, such as a partners page.
- Affiliate deal
- A listing or review that the place earns from through your affiliate programme, taking a share of the sales it sends.
- Review sites live on it; without an affiliate programme most will not look at you.
- Featured spot (paid placement)
- A paid position at the top of a category or the home page, usually for a month at a time.
- Prices on this site are the cheapest stated paid spot; the listing itself is often free.
- Submit page
- The form or email address a place uses to take new listings.
- Every place page here links to it; a missing form means you pitch by email.
- Review time
- How long a place says it takes between a submission and a decision.
- Stated by fewer than half the places; give the silent ones two weeks before following up.
- Age gate
- A screen that asks visitors to confirm they are 18 or older before showing the site.
- Many directories require one on your own site before they list you; an 18+ policy page helps too.
- Listing kit
- The set of texts and images every form asks for: a one-line pitch, descriptions in several lengths, a square logo, a cover, screenshots, categories and links.
- Prepare it once and reuse it; the free tracker builds one from your website, with clean versions.
- Checked date
- The day this site last read a place's terms on the place's own pages.
- Terms change; a fact older than a few months deserves a look at the source before you pay.
See the terms in use on any place's page, for example AI Haven, or read the listing guide.
